Where Can I Buy Ants For My Ant Farm?

Whether you are looking for a hobby or a way to learn more about the lives of ants, there are a number of ways to buy ants. You can buy them locally, or online. Some brands even offer vouchers for ants from a supplier.

Ants are usually shipped via USPS and can take anywhere from 5 to 12 days. Winter orders can take longer due to cold weather. Orders can also be delayed during high order volumes.

Ants are sold in the US, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Live ants are not available in Mexico or Canada.

Insect Lore’s Mountain Ant Kit includes a tube of 25 Harvester ants, but there are some caveats. The kit must be shipped in a 50-85 degree Fahrenheit temperature, and cannot be shipped to Hawaii or Oregon. It is also not a good idea to ship live ants to the APO or FPO.

Insect Lore’s ant farm also includes a sand rod and special “easy dig” sand. In addition, it comes with an activity guide. You also get a water bowl and a suction pipe.

The AntHouse Ant Farm is suitable for ages 10 and up. It is made of 100 percent acrylic. It comes with a three-inch area for tunneling, a water dispenser, a food dispenser, moss, and decorative stones.

Ants are very interesting creatures. They communicate by using scent trails, and they are efficient at keeping their habitat clean. However, they need food, water, and shelter.
