In some cases, you may experience a bullous reaction, which resembles a blood blister. These blisters may be painful and can bleed. They may also leave bruising and scarring. This reaction, however, is not life threatening and can be easily treated.
The symptoms of bedbug bites are similar to those of mosquito bites. They usually appear in tight, circular lines and are incredibly itchy. The bites can also take a few days to swell. If you notice them, don’t scratch them! The bugs must feed on your blood to survive, so a scratch will only make the situation worse.
When bedbugs bite, they inject their mouthparts and find a blood vessel. If the host moves, the feeding bedbug will seek a blood meal elsewhere. This is why the amount of bites is not an indication of how many bedbugs are feeding on the host.
