Termites are not very good fliers, so they rely on the wind to carry them. Their wings lie flat over their abdomen when they are not in use. The wings are often mistaken for mosquitoes. If you have a swarm of termites in your home, you can catch them by capturing them and placing them in a plastic bag. Tape the exit holes of the bag to prevent them from escaping.
Swarming termites can be very damaging to your home, and you should always treat the situation with caution. They can travel through crevices in the foundation of your house and enter your home through doorways or window sills. If you notice stragglers inside your home, they are a sign that there is a colony nearby.
