Where Do Cockroaches Bite?

Cockroaches are very common, and you’ll find as many as 30 different species in a single household. They like dead and wet skin, and will sometimes bite you if they’re hungry. However, they can also bite you if they’ve gotten into your food, and you should be aware of the risks associated with that.

Cockroach bites can cause a mild to severe allergic reaction. The skin rash will swell and may cause a stinging sensation. In addition to triggering allergic reactions, cockroaches are also known to transmit diseases. These bugs transmit these diseases to people through their saliva. For this reason, it’s important to clean up your home before bedtime to avoid inadvertent contact with cockroaches.

Though cockroaches rarely bite people, they will do so if they perceive a threat or scarcity of food. Most cockroaches bite during the night, but the bites are often not visible. The bites can be painful, and they can deliver a bite force up to 50 times their body weight.
