Can You Use Grits to Kill Ants?

Grits are a traditional breakfast food. They are made from coarsely ground grains. They are also known as Souther Grits. Some people claim to have used grits as a way to kill fire ants. Others claim they did not work.

The idea that grits will kill fire ants was developed by researchers at Texas A&M University. They found that the ants who ate the grits would explode.

The reason ants exploded was because the grits swelled in their stomachs. When the ants were swelled, the pressure caused them to explode. This is not effective in killing fire ants.

It is not important to use instant grits. You can use uncooked grits. However, they won’t work the same way. You can also use ant bait.

To use grits as ant bait, simply sprinkle them around ant mounds. You can also use a borax solution. You can also make a paste of molasses and sugar. You can use this as a coating on cardboard strips. However, you should keep this out of reach of children.

You can also use citrus oil or cinnamon. Cinnamon will repel ants but not kill them. Citrus oil will also repel other insects. You can also use a mixture of vinegar and sugar. However, be careful because vinegar will kill the ants.

You can also use food-grade diatomaceous earth. This is an organic substance that is commonly used by farmers to kill insects in grain storage. It is harmless to humans and mammals, but it can be toxic to ants.
