One of the best ways to repel silverfish is to use natural compounds. These can include essential oils, herbs, spices and other all-natural substances. While these will not kill silverfish, they will repel them from your home.

Another effective method is to vacuum. This is the fastest way to get rid of silverfish. It will also suck up any eggs that may be in your baseboards.

If you live in an area with lots of moisture, you can try a spray made from boric acid. Boric acid is a toxic substance that can be sprayed into crevices and cracks. However, it is not recommended for children or pets.

Other non-lethal methods for removing silverfish include removing their food sources. Silverfish primarily eat protein and organic materials. They are attracted to adhesive objects.
