Where Are Mosquitoes Attracted?

Several factors are believed to be responsible for attracting mosquitoes. These include body temperature, blood type, and scents. But, it’s still unclear exactly what those factors are.

One study suggests that pregnant women are more attractive to mosquitoes than non-pregnant women. This is because pregnant women have higher temperatures and more blood circulating in their bodies. They also exhale more carbon dioxide than other people.

Aedes aegypti mosquitoes spread diseases such as dengue and yellow fever. They also are able to pick up the scent of humans and use it to prey on us. They are also attracted to feet and exposed parts of the human body.

Other studies have suggested that certain blood types are more attractive to mosquitoes than others. These include Type A and Type O. It’s not clear whether this is a coincidence or a real difference.

Scientists have been trying to pinpoint exactly what factors are responsible for attracting mosquitoes. They’ve come up with several compounds that have been identified as attractive to mosquitoes. They include floral scents, salt, potassium, and lactic acid.

One study suggested that alcohol can make a person more attractive to mosquitoes. In particular, alcohol increases body temperature. Several researchers have suggested that alcohol can actually cause a chemical to be released from the skin that mosquitoes find attractive.

While some scientists have suggested that certain blood types are more attractive than others, it’s unclear exactly what makes one type more attractive than another.
