Where the Crow Flies – A Review

The phrase where the crow flies refers to the shortest route between two points. It has its origins with medieval sailors. In those days, sailors would keep a crow on board their ships and let it loose when they were near land. This was an excellent way to determine the location of land.

This idiom has a variety of usages. It can refer to a direct distance, or a straight line. It is a popular way to refer to a location, but isn’t particularly helpful when giving directions. Rather, crows tend to fly straight towards food sources.

Where the crow flies is also used when giving directions or estimating the distance between two locations. But unlike other distance measurements, this distance is a distance that crows will take in a straight line and not take into account turns. So if a crow is flying in a straight line and doesn’t encounter any obstacles, he will take the shortest path to its destination.

Despite being a television series, where the crow flies is a more mature drama. Developed by Meric Acemi, the show is about a contrasting generation. The story follows the lives of a Gen Z fan and his Gen X idol, and a young woman who is drawn into the dark side of ambition. The entire first season consists of eight episodes.
