One solution for killing fleas is steaming. Steaming can be extremely effective, but you should avoid steaming fleas at temperatures above 180 degrees, as these temperatures can damage the fabric and burn you. When using the steam method, make sure that the fabric is at the highest setting and that the cycle is as long as possible. If you’re using water-based products, you can dilute bleach with water before steaming.

Another method of killing fleas is freezing your mattress. The freezing temperature kills fleas’ eggs, but the freezing process won’t kill the adult fleas.
