Cockroach Eggs Do Not Survive Freezing

Cockroach eggs do not survive freezing because they do not have the right physiological system to survive extreme cold. They cannot survive sub-zero temperatures for more than an hour. Even if they survive this short time, the eggs will die soon. Moreover, freezing of cockroach eggs is not a recommended option for their growth because their case will not be viable in this freezing temperature.

When the temperature is too cold, the cockroaches will die. The average temperature of a cockroach is about 17 degrees Celsius or 0 degrees Fahrenheit. However, some species may be able to survive temperatures as low as 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Although some species will be killed if they are kept in extreme cold conditions, most species will survive in temperatures around that temperature.

Cockroaches lay their eggs in oothecae. The oothecae are made up of proteins. They are white when they are first laid, and harden into a dark red-brown color as they mature. The number of eggs in each ootheca will depend on the species. The ootheca is around eight millimeters long and usually has several eggs inside it.

If a woman in the nest is infected, a woman is most likely to be the culprit. The female will stop laying eggs if her egg case is destroyed. If the female has been killed, there is less chance that she will leave eggs. If the female has already spawned, the eggs can be killed by using desiccant dusts. These dusts are non-toxic and can be purchased online. They may not be enough to kill the entire roach population, however. If the infestation becomes severe, you may want to call a professional exterminator for help.
