Another method of killing bed bugs is to leave them outside. This can be effective if you have a warm home in the winter. The temperature inside the bag will not be as cold as the outside air, so it’s crucial to keep it at three degrees or less. The temperature must be at least 3 degrees, or the bugs will feed and reproduce.
However, bed bugs don’t like very cold temperatures. If you leave them outside for a few days in cold temperatures, they can adapt to the cold. The freezing point of their body fluids is much lower than that of our bodies, and so they can survive in colder temperatures for a few days. The coldest temperatures that bed bugs will survive are minus – 13 degrees F.
