Can Bed Bugs Give You Acne?
Acne is a skin infection that is caused by an oversecretion of the oil gland, bacteria, and dead cells, and it breaks out on the skin. While bed bugs do not directly cause acne, the bites they leave on the skin can cause irritation and swelling. Both types of acne require treatment, but they have very different causes.
Although the bites from bed bugs are often unnoticeable, they can lead to painful pimples. While most pimples are red and small, a highly sensitive person may experience a pus filled blister. A pus filled blister looks like a hard lump with a small opening underneath. Pimples are typically present on the face and neck, but can also occur on the back, buttocks, and other parts of the body.
Some people are more sensitive to bed bug bites than others, and this is why they are advised to consult a doctor. Regardless of the location of the bites, it’s essential to avoid scratching the bites as this can cause skin infections and even scarring. Moreover, it’s important not to squeeze bedbug pimples because doing so can spread the infection and leave behind permanent scars.
The bites of bed bugs will look like a small pimple. These will not have a white center, which is common with acne pimples. However, it’s worth noting that bed bugs’ bites do not produce pus or whiteheads. If you do have whiteheads, it means that you may have an internal outbreak of the condition.
