How to Get Rid of Tiny Ants in Your Kitchen

Keeping a clean kitchen is important to prevent ant infestation. While ants are not dangerous, they can be a nuisance. They can be found in any home and are often attracted to food and other sweets.

If ants appear suddenly in your kitchen, the first step is to find out where they are coming from. Then you can take steps to eliminate the problem.

Ants leave a chemical trail called pheromones. These pheromones attract other ant species in the area. They can then be tracked to the original entry point. If you can find where the ants are coming from, you can use this trail to find the nest.

If you see ants in your kitchen, you can use a natural ant repellent such as cinnamon. Cinnamon has volatile properties and will suffocate ants. You can sprinkle it in cracks or around your kitchen. You can also spray it on surfaces.

Another natural ant repellent is baking soda. When ants come across the baking soda, they will carry it back to the colony. You can sprinkle it on countertops, chair legs and other key areas. After a few days, ants will be dead. You can also put it around the outside of the house where the ants are coming from.

Leaving food out can also attract ants. If you keep your kitchen clean and take out the trash regularly, you can prevent an ant infestation. However, ants do come out during the day if they are hungry.
