Can Ants Bite Through Clothes?

Several different types of ants exist. Some ants are only known to bite, and others have poison. While the majority of ants will not bite humans, they do have the ability to gnaw through materials.

Ants are persistent creatures when it comes to finding food. They will attack construction, materials, and food in search of their food. Some ants even have saw-like bodies to help them gnaw through things.

Ants do not actually bite people, but the sting is painful. These stings are caused by the venom that ants inject into their bodies. The venom causes a burning sensation and a blistering pain. The pain can last for several days.

The sting may cause swelling and itching. If swelling or itching persists for more than 24 hours, a medical professional should be called. Some people can have allergic reactions to ant bites. If this is the case, the person may experience redness, itching, and other skin symptoms.

If the person is allergic, they should take an epinephrine injector to reduce the allergic reaction. Oral antihistamines can also be used to reduce the itch. Oral steroids are also used for severe welts. If the person suffers from a severe allergic reaction, they should be taken to the hospital.

A person may be allergic to ants, and they should not handle them. Ants may also be attracted to cement and concrete. In these cases, they may attack the person when they step on the cement or concrete.
