When these termites become mature, they will emerge from the ground and begin to breed. They will produce a dark, powdery substance that looks like sawdust. This is known as “frass.” It can be difficult to tell if it is sawdust or wood-colored droppings.
There are two types of reproductive termites. One is the primary reproductive termite, which is black, and the other is the supplementary reproductive termite, which is creamy white. Both types come in varying sizes.
A colony of termites can grow to over one million in size. They can live in damp or dry spaces. Their main motive for entering your home is to get a secure food source. They are often found in moist areas of the house, such as bathrooms or laundry rooms.
Termites are attracted to moisture and warmth. They will seek out a food source that has a high concentration of cellulose. This is found in many materials, such as paper, leaves, and cardboard.
