Where Does Spiders Live?
WouterSpiders live in all sorts of habitats. Their range of home environments varies, but they are found in almost every part of the world. Some live in dry climates, but they also live in tropic regions where there is plenty of water. In addition, they may live in indoor spaces like bathrooms, closets and even bedrooms.
A common house spider lives indoors for most of its life. Its lifespan is about two years, but females can live as long as three years. They are often found in basements and hidden areas of a home. These spiders lay eggs on furniture or building materials. If their food supply is lacking, they will spin a new web to catch prey.
House spiders tend to make their homes in areas with little traffic and are not disturbed. They build their webs in a quick and efficient manner. The web can be a handy tool for catching flies and other unsuspecting insects.
During cooler weather, spiders will move into their home for protection. Some will eschew their webs for active hunting. Others will use a shared web to ambush their victims.
While there are many different species of spiders, there are only a few that are commonly found in homes. These include the black widow, white widow, and common house spider.
They are also found in barns and sheds. Barns provide a cozy, dark space where they can catch their prey. Mosquitos and dead bugs also find shelter in these types of buildings.
