When Does It Rain Spiders?

A spider rain occurs when thousands of spiders float through the air. This isn’t an uncommon occurrence in some parts of the world. However, it’s not something most people are familiar with.

There are two main ways in which spiders can balloon up into the sky. The first involves spiders firing silk into the air. This allows them to travel hundreds of miles with little energy.

The second method involves spiders landing in a specific area in mass. This can happen when floods or wildfires occur. During these times, spiders are among the first creatures to come back to devastated areas.

There are two main types of spiders that balloon up in the sky. One type is the Angel Hair spider. They are usually unnoticeable, but they may cause damage to crops.

Another type is the baboon spider. These are much fatter and have larger mouth parts. They also have scopulae pads on their feet.

While the baboon and Angel Hair spiders aren’t poisonous, their bites are painful. They can hurt human skin in a similar way to bee stings.

In some places, the rain spider may look a lot like a lizard. This is because it looks hairy and has a large abdomen. The legs of the rain spider are long and can reach up to 110mm in length. Its sacs are a size of around 60-100mm. The male rain spider is brighter than the female.

There’s no proof that spiders can “rain” on humans. Typically, they take shelter inside homes when it rains.
