How Tall Are Spider Monkeys?

The spider monkey is a type of monkey which has adapted heavily for arboreal living. These small mammals are found in tropical rainforests in Central America and South America. Female spider monkeys are sexually mature between four and five years. At the age of six, they disperse. They may occupy a home range of 150 to 860 acres.

When a spider monkey is born, it is dependent on its mother for milk for about two years. The infants are fully covered with hair. Once they have grown, they lighten in color.

This species is a frugivore, which means that they eat plants. They eat bark, leaves, fruits, and seeds. They also eat tender leaf sprouts.

Males can grow up to 20 inches in height and weigh about 19 pounds. Females can be 13-23 inches tall and weigh between thirteen and twenty pounds.
