How Fast Do Huntsman Spiders Grow?

The huntsman spider is a giant spider. They are usually found under trees or rocks. A large one can weigh as much as a dinner plate. They are nocturnal, meaning they’re active during the night. Unlike other spiders, they do not weave webs.

In the wild, a female huntsman spider lays up to 200 eggs. After they’re laid, the spiderlings stay with their mother for several weeks. When the young spiders are ready, the mother will tear open the egg sac to allow them to emerge.

Huntsman spiders can run at speeds up to 5 meters per second. This is because their front legs are much longer than the rear legs. While their rear legs are used to support their body weight, the front legs are used for jumping. Some spiders even perform cartwheels while they’re running.

Huntsman spiders are known to enter human homes, but these spiders are not aggressive towards humans. Their diet is primarily insects, although they also eat small vertebrates.

Most huntsman spiders grow to about one inch in length. The golden huntsman spider is one of the larger ones. It has a leg span of up to a foot.

These spiders can survive for two years or more. Young spiders start out pale in colour and then darken with each moult. Adults can reach 15cm in length and weigh 5.5 grams.

Huntsman spiders live in a social group of up to 150 spiders. However, some species can be quite aggressive, especially when protecting their egg sacs.
