How to Squish a Silverfish Infestation

Silverfish are one of the more elusive creatures. Fortunately, silverfish are mostly harmless to humans. Unlike some other insects, they are not known to carry diseases. Another thing you should do is to spray a citrus-based spray. These are effective in repelling silverfish. You can also spray essential oils, such as lavender, in areas where you don’t want them to invade. Alternatively, you can use an insect repellent.

However, you’ll need to do more than just remove potential food sources to successfully eradicate a silverfish infestation. Since they are so fast and elusive, you’ll need to be especially careful.

Using sticky insect traps can help you eliminate silverfish. They can be placed along baseboards, around windows, and in corners of your house. Moreover, you should also be sure to vacuum regularly.

Lastly, you should be careful with your pet. While they are generally harmless, they can accidentally ingest foods that contain silverfish. It is best to avoid feeding them if you want to keep your home free of them.
