Next, you need to find a food source. Silverfish are primarily nocturnal creatures, meaning they’re active at night. That means you’ll need to be on the lookout for their byproducts, such as black pellet feces, yellow excrement, and skin molts. These byproducts may mix with your existing dust and can worsen any allergic reactions you might have.

Third, you should try to keep your bedding dry. In humid climates, you might notice your bedsheets become damp from perspiration. To prevent this, you should switch to breathable bedroom fabrics and use a dehumidifier.

Fourth, you can make your bed more hostile to silverfish. A common repellent is cedarwood, a natural wood. Cedarwood does not harm mammals, but it is a very effective pest repellent.
