Will Irish Spring Keep Mosquitoes Away?

Whether you’re looking for a new insect repellent, or just trying to get rid of musty smells in the house, you’ve probably wondered will Irish Spring keep mosquitoes away. A quick search on the Internet will give you plenty of claims, but there isn’t much proof.

The CDC maintains a list of the most effective mosquito repellents, and they recommend using a registered product, such as DEET. The CDC also recommends using oil of lemon eucalyptus, picaridin, and IR3535.

While the CDC says the Irish Spring soap is not the best insect repellent, some people have claimed it is. The CDC also said there was no scientific proof that Irish Spring soap was effective.

Irish Spring soap does have a potent odor. This odor is attributed to the presence of citrus essential oils. A similar odor is produced by citronella lanterns. However, Irish Spring soap is not the only soap with a scented odor.

The CDC’s list also includes a number of other bug-repelling products. Some commercial bug sprays contain sodium palmitate, a derivative of palm oil.

There’s also a lot of hype surrounding Irish Spring soap. It’s claimed to be a potent smelling wonderland. It also claims to be effective at repelling mice, chipmunks, rabbits, and deer. While the claim is true, the real question is, will Irish Spring keep mosquitoes away?

Irish Spring’s official claim is that it is “the only soap that is odorless.” The company does not provide scientific proof that this is the case.
