Avon Skin So Soft Mosquito Repellent Review

Despite Avon’s claim that Skin So Soft is the most effective mosquito repellent, it’s not as effective as other products. It works well, but not as well as DEET.

Mosquitoes are attracted to warmth, humidity, and chemical scents. Their receptors vary from species to species. A repellent works by blocking these receptors, making them unavailable to mosquitoes. Skin So Soft does this by using picaridin.

Picaridin, also called icaridin, is an effective mosquito repellent that works similarly to DEET. It is approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In addition to mosquitoes, it’s effective against ticks.

Avon’s Skin So Soft Bug Guard is also an effective insect repellent. It protects against mosquito bites for up to eight hours, and it’s dermatologist tested. It’s also safe for children. It doesn’t contain DEET, which is toxic to babies under two months old. It’s also less expensive than other products.

Skin So Soft does not have as many active ingredients as other repellents. It’s mainly made of natural ingredients. However, it must be applied to every inch of skin. It works by trapping midges in an oily film, but it doesn’t work as well as DEET. It also has to be reapplied several times throughout the day.

Another study compared the effectiveness of three repellents against a placebo. It found that the two deet-based repellents provided 97.9% protection against mosquitoes.

Avon Skin So Soft works for five to six hours, but it’s not as effective as other DEET-based repellents. It also does not work as well as hand moisturizers.
