How Do Maggots Appear Without Flies?

To get rid of maggots, clean the area thoroughly. Remove all old food and dispose of it in sealed containers. Also, cover food that your pets have eaten and dispose of it quickly. You can also use pesticides or use fly repellents. These products are effective in killing maggots and repelling flies, but they’re ineffective if the kitchen is dirty.
Maggots live in massive groups and can heat up their immediate environment. When the temperature rises too high, they retreat to cooler areas. A temperature of 104 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit is the optimal temperature for them to survive. They are sensitive to odors and light.
Maggots don’t have sophisticated digestive systems, but they secrete digestive enzymes as they move through food. Maggots also eat other maggots. In fact, they are more common than flies, and they can be found in almost any environment. Fortunately, the European Union has banned this practice for the time being, though a few farms are still making casu marzu the old-fashioned way.
It’s not the bacteria in the meat that causes maggots, but the eggs laid by flies on the meat. While the presence of eggs can’t be completely eliminated, refrigerating or freezing the meat slows their development. However, freezing meat won’t kill maggots.
