Using salt to kill fleas is an inexpensive and effective way to treat your home. The key is to use a fine powder and to apply it in areas where your pet is likely to be affected by fleas. Fleas live on wooden floors and can hide in cracks and holes. In these areas, you can sprinkle a teaspoon of iodized salt. You should then place the jar in a bright light. Make sure that no flea escapes through the salt. This is because flea larvae can live in such confined spaces.

After applying the salt, you should vacuum the treated areas. Salt can remain on furniture and carpet for a day or two, so you should avoid allowing your pets to lick the salt after applying it. Ideally, you should target flea larvae before they can mature. Flea larvae live for five to fourteen days. This makes them incredibly vulnerable. The best way to kill flea larvae is to apply salt repeatedly and regularly.
