Do Fleas Need Air to Live?

Did you know that fleas need air to live? It’s important for them to breathe in the right conditions, as they’re constantly searching for hosts. In addition to air, they need moisture to develop and grow, as their eggs and larvae are often found in moist organic matter. During this stage of their life cycle, they will often climb upwards, seeking potential hosts.

Fleas live on humans and animals and feed on the blood of their hosts. They can go up to 100 days without feeding, and female fleas can eat up to fifteen times their body weight in blood each day. This means that a single flea can feed up to 50 babies.

Fleas can be killed with a variety of methods. You can use a vacuum bag to kill them, but this method may take longer. Moreover, using a vacuum seal may not remove all of the air inside the bag. In this case, the fleas may be able to survive for a week in an airtight bag.
