What Temperature Do Cockroaches Like?

When you’re looking for ways to keep cockroaches away, it’s important to consider the temperature in which your home is located. Although roaches can survive at a number of different temperatures, they generally prefer a moderate range. For instance, if you find cockroaches living in a refrigerator that has been left out at room temperature, you can use peppermint oil to keep them away.

Cockroaches usually prefer warm, humid climates, but they will also tolerate colder temperatures if necessary. Some species can survive temperatures as low as 0 degrees Fahrenheit, but most will die out in negative temperatures. In general, cockroaches will be more active in summer than they are in the winter.

If you have a home that is too cold for cockroaches, they will search for warmer areas within your home. Their preferred environment is a place that is warm and humid, as this will provide them with the moisture they need to survive. Ideally, they will find a place where the temperature is between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius.

Cockroaches don’t like very hot or cold temperatures, and they prefer a temperature of around 25 degrees. Their bodies are designed for this range, so cockroaches that are exposed to temperatures lower than this will die within a few hours. Even if they do survive, a cockroach that is exposed to temperatures over 50 degrees can only live for about four days.
