How to Find Cockroach Nests in Your Home
The first step in eradicating cockroaches in your home is to identify where they have been living. Cockroaches tend to produce a distinctive smell and will leave droppings and moulted skins around the nest. You can also count the number of roaches present in the nest to determine the size of the infestation. When cockroaches have made a nest in your home, they will shed saliva when they leave and will leave droppings all over the floor.
If you see cockroaches in your home, they are probably hiding in dark, damp areas. Cockroaches do not need a lot of space to build their nest. They will choose a location that is safe and well-hidden. This can be under your refrigerator, behind your TV set, or in your kitchen sink. You can also identify the nest by seeing piles of discarded oothecae. If you have a vacuum cleaner, you can use the attachment to its hose to remove any cockroaches from the area.
Another way to find a cockroach’s nest is to examine boxes and drawers in your home. Old boxes of clothing and drawers are attractive locations for cockroaches to deposit their eggs. Paper and cardboard are also common hiding places for roaches, as they tend to absorb strong odors. Wooden dressers and drawers also provide an ideal environment for cockroaches to nest.
