Cockroach Traps – Are Cockroach Traps Effective?
Cockroach traps can be effective at controlling cockroach populations but only when placed correctly. Place the trap in the area where you suspect the cockroaches are entering. Once they leave their nest, they will notice the trap and will come out of it hungry for food. If you’ve been using glue traps but aren’t seeing any results, try bait traps. These work by mixing bait and insecticide to attract the cockroaches to a trap. However, this bait does not immediately kill the cockroach, and should be removed and disposed of properly.
One of the major advantages of bait traps is that they only attract roaches to a specific area. This means that if the baited cockroach returns to the area, it will be killed. This can lead to a chain reaction and kill off other cockroaches. This will reduce the cockroach population over a few weeks. Depending on the type of bait used, you may find that you need to replace it after several months.
The number of cockroach traps you need to install in your home will depend on the severity of your infestation. A moderate infestation will have cockroaches that are only active at night, and a severe infestation will have cockroaches active all day long. This is because cockroaches are nocturnal and will avoid daytime activity. However, if you find that cockroaches are actively moving during the daytime, this could be an indicator that your nest is overpopulated, or that the bait has an attraction effect.
