Baking soda is a salt compound composed of sodium and bicarbonate ions. It’s naturally found in mineral springs and has many uses, including odor control and medicinal uses. In fact, baking soda is used to treat acne. The paste is also an excellent deodorizer for your home.

Another great use for baking soda is removing the unpleasant smell from your mattress. This natural product can be placed on your mattress and allowed to sit for an hour or more before you clean it. In addition, you can place a pile of baking soda around your sofa or couch base. This will keep the bugs from laying eggs in these places.

Another good way to get rid of bed bugs is to sprinkle talcum powder around the hotspots in your house. Talcum powder is similar to baking soda and is believed to dehydrate the insects. You can also place talcum powder traps under your bed. The powder will make it very slippery for the bugs to crawl in.
