What Can You Use For Ants?

Whether you have ants in the kitchen or around the house, there are several methods that you can use to get rid of them. These include ant baits, ant granules, and even ant spray.

Using ant granules can discourage ants from attempting to enter your home. You can place these granules near the entrances and around the outside of your home. When ants eat these granules, they typically die.

Another natural ant repellent is tea tree oil. You can purchase this essential oil at the grocery store. This oil can be sprayed on windowsills and flower pots. You can also use cotton wool balls soaked in citrus essential oils. These can be placed near dustbins and compost heaps.

You can also make your own ant bait. To make a homemade ant bait, mix one part borax with three parts powdered sugar. This can be pressed into a short open tube. The ants take the borax syrup back to the colony.

Another option is to use talcum powder. Talcum powder breaks ants’ pheromone trail and kills them. You can also mix pepper with water to make a homemade ant spray.

You can also place coffee grounds around the entry points of your house. Coffee grounds are good at forming a barrier for ants to travel through. However, it may become less effective if they dry out. You can also spray your doors with lemon juice. Lemon juice will deter ants and can help break up ants’ pheromone trail.
