How to Keep Ants Away in Your Home

During hot weather, ants will need to find more water than normal. If they cannot get a drink they will start to suffer from a lack of thirst. They can live for several days without food but can die in as little as seven to ten days without water. Hence, it is important to keep your hoses and faucets leak free and keep your home at a reasonable temperature to prevent ant infestations.

A good way to keep ants away is to make sure you never leave food out on your counters. Ants are highly attracted to crumbs and moisture. If you do not want them in your home, leave food in the fridge or freezer and do not leave food out in the open.

Another way to keep ants at bay is to prevent them from using your bathroom. Leaving a running bathroom fan will help with this. You can also keep the shower door closed to prevent moisture from building up. If you can’t do this, try opening the window to let in the air.

Having a few small bowls around your home is also a good idea. Ants are attracted to salty and sweet things. You can also try placing a cup of water in a location where they are less likely to enter it.

The most important part of this is to make sure you take good care of the water. Keeping it in a high place will keep ants from getting too close to it.
