Wasps Rugby Union Club
Founded in 1867, Wasps has become one of the most successful clubs in rugby union. It has won 12 major titles and has also won the European Cup twice.
Wasps is not only a club with a rich history, but a club with ambitious off-field goals. They have signed a new kit supply deal with US sportswear giant Under Armour, and are gearing up for a first full season in Coventry. They are also looking for an extra PS300,000 in a matter of days to take part in the women’s Premier 15s.
Wasps have been crowned English National Champions for six times. They have also won three Anglo-Welsh Cup titles. They are also a member of the European Rugby Challenge Cup.
Wasps had a good season in 1875-76. They played a number of famous names, including Harry Bowcott, Warwickshire, and Richmond. They also played Welsh internationals.
In 1878, Wasps’ players were a bit ugly in a scrimmage, as described in Figaro magazine. However, they were a strong team, finishing the season with a win in each of their last 21 games. They beat Gloucester in the final by 39 points to three.
Wasps had a slow start to the season, but they finished in the top half of the table. They defeated Gloucester in the quarter-finals. They also played Bath in the semi-finals.
Wasps’ First XV played a mixed International XV, sponsored by W. C. Ramsay. They had a 20-point lead over the Internationals.
