Where Do Ants Eat Termites?

Termites and ants can live side by side, but they are not the same. They are both detritivores, meaning they extract compounds from wood. They are also considered subterranean insects because they are often found in wood structures.

Despite their small size, termites can be very destructive. They can cause significant damage to foundations. They feed on the cellulose in wood. They may also feed on paper and plastic.

Termites have two castes, the queen and the worker. The workers eat the termites and the queens receive the pre-digested termites from the worker ants. The termite carcasses are broken down by the larvae. The rest of the termites are left to build a new colony.

While most people do not like ants, they are actually a good thing. They can help kill termites without the use of pesticides. They also don’t leave behind any harmful chemicals in your home.
