What Size Are Flying Termites?

Termites have a unique body that makes them easy to identify. They are usually light in color. Some species are black or brown. They are about 3/8 to a quarter of an inch long.

These insects have two antennae. The first is a straight stick, while the other is curved. The latter may be the same length as the former or longer.

Termites have a three-part body. They have a thorax, an abdomen, and two legs. The thorax is the largest part of the body, and appears to have two segments. The thorax can be as large as one half of the body. The best part is that all of the parts are functional. The thorax is used for the colony’s reproductive activities.

The first and most obvious sign of an infestation is a winged termite. These are very different from flying ants. The wings are not segmented. They are about a half an inch long. They are translucent and bend at a 90 degree angle.

The thorax and abdomen are similar in width. They are not as big as the wings, and can be about the same length. The thorax may have a small hump.

There are several kinds of flying termites. They may be more likely to swarm after a rain storm. They are also more active during the spring and summer months. Some species have very large wings that can span up to a third of the termite’s body.
