How Do Termites Eat Burnt Wood?

Termites prefer to feed on softer, damp wood, such as springwood. They create tunnels in the ground to get to their food source. They only come out to feed.

Many people collect firewood in their homes. However, they should not keep the wood near the walls of their houses. They should store the firewood in a shed or in a dry basement. This will discourage termites from infesting the wood.

If you find termites on your firewood, it is best to move it to a better location. You can do this by storing it in a woodshed, a cinder block or a concrete dry crack basement. You can also seal the wood to prevent water from seeping into it. This will make it waterproof and keep it from rotting.

Another important thing to do when dealing with termites is to clean and maintain the woodwork in your home. Using a pressure treated wood is the best way to protect it from termites. It has preservatives embedded in it.
