Why Spiders Are Bad
The common misconception that spiders are bad is not true. Although a few species of spiders can cause serious injuries or fatalities, the majority of spiders are harmless and can play a beneficial role in nature.
Spiders are natural predators of insects. They feed on pests that damage crops or spread disease. Some spiders can also transfer pollen from one plant to another. They are beneficial to the ecosystem and reduce the need for chemical pesticides.
They are found throughout the world. They have two main body parts: the cephalothorax and the abdomen. The thorax is the part of the body that holds the head and lungs.
The spider’s body is shaped in ways that help to deceive their prey. Some spiders, such as the wolf spider, have a very aggressive nature and bite people. Generally, they will only bite people when they are directly handled.
Some spiders, such as the black widow, are highly aggressive and can kill. Some can inject venom into the human body. This venom may cause painful symptoms, including skin necrosis.
Some spiders, such as the Daddy Longlegs, are not venomous. They are not treated like the Black Widow Spider.
However, some venomous spiders, such as the brown recluse, can cause serious illness or even death. If you are allergic to venom, you should contact a doctor immediately.
In addition to killing pests, spiders help to control insect populations. They produce silk, a protein fiber that is useful for many purposes.
