Why Do LED Lights Attract Spiders?
If you have noticed a few spiders around your light fixtures you are not alone. These insects are a natural part of the ecosystem and are attracted to certain lights. If you are concerned about your spider problems you may want to try using an insecticide spray. You can also purchase cedar chips as a bug deterrent.
While there are many bugs that can see the light, there aren’t any that are specifically attracted to LEDs. In fact, they may be more attracted to ultraviolet and infrared light. However, these types of light are unlikely to kill them.
If you aren’t sure what type of lights you should use, you may want to consider installing a light bulb that emits the light the spiders are most attracted to. For instance, blue LEDs are better suited for this purpose.
If you do decide to use LED lighting, make sure you choose the right ones. They do not flicker like regular bulbs, so they don’t create a false sense of motion. It is also a good idea to locate the light in a well-ventilated area.
If you’re worried about spiders, you can get rid of them by spraying a non-toxic insecticide. You can also purchase insect repellents that contain citrus or cedar oils. Some even contain a nifty little squirt bottle. You can also buy insect-proof glass for your windows.
Spiders are attracted to LED lights for a number of reasons. The most obvious one is that they aren’t afraid of bright lights. They also are attracted to warm surfaces and have a thermal receptor.
