Which Spiders Have No Eyes?

Some of these creatures are found in the famous Xe Bang Fai cave system. Another species was discovered in the Cueva Seibo in the Dominican Republic. A new species was found in Laos. It was named Sinopoda scurion. This spider has no eyes and its body is about 12 millimetres long.
Besides the absence of eyes, these creatures have also lost their pigmentation. These arachnids are blind and cannot see in a dark environment. Their survival is based on a combination of taste, touch, and vibration.
Most spiders have eight eyes. Depending on the species, their eyes may be fixed, arranged in pairs, or moved. The arrangement of the eyes is more important than the number of them.
The main primary eyes in spiders are called ocelli. These ocelli are located in the forward part of the head. They are used for tracking images. They can also be able to form true images.
Secondary eyes are usually smaller than the primary ones. They may be oval or round. They have no muscles and can be located on the sides or the back. They are derived from the compound eyes.
The arrangement of the eyes is very useful for identification purposes. Some spiders are known for having crude color vision. Their color perception covers a wider spectrum than human vision. It ranges from the deep violet end to the blue and purple hues. They can also see a wide area in black and white.
