Where Can Brown Recluse Spiders Be Found?
Brown recluse spiders can be found in wood piles, deserts, and mesic forests. It’s also commonly found in homes.
If you have a brown recluse bite, it’s important to see a doctor as soon as possible. This is because this type of spider has a venom that can cause serious complications. The venom can cause swelling, muscle pain, blood clotting disorder, seizures, and kidney failure. Depending on the severity of your bite, you may also need to take anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, and opioids.
In the early stages of a brown recluse bite, you may not have any symptoms. However, over time, you can develop scars and a fever. Also, you may experience swelling, itching, and nausea. You may have blood in your urine, too.
Most cases heal on their own. But, if you develop a severe reaction, such as skin necrosis, you could need to have surgery. Depending on your situation, you might also need to receive blood transfusions or even skin grafts.
Although brown recluse spiders are rare, their bites can be painful. Symptoms can include an itching sensation, fever, muscle pain, and swelling. Some people have even died from these bites.
If you find a brown recluse spider in your home, you can use sticky glue traps to immobilize them. They can be purchased from hardware stores or pest control companies. Sticky traps are especially important if you have small children or pets.
Alternatively, you can put the traps in a dark place, such as behind your furniture or out of reach of your pet. A trap can be left out for several weeks. Ideally, it’s best to set two or three in each room.
