Spider-Man For the PlayStation 5
There is a new version of Spider-Man for the PlayStation(r)5 console, a remastered version. It will be available digitally, but will not have a free upgrade path from the original PlayStation 4 version.
The main change between the PlayStation(r)4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game is in the graphics. The PS5 version makes use of the ray tracing capabilities of the console to offer a more detailed reflection and shadows. This helps in a number of ways, allowing the Spider-Man character to perform better.
Another important change is the ability to run the PS5 version at a native 4k quality. This allows the game to run at 30 frames per second with no visual stutters. The PS5 version also supports a separate performance mode called “60FPS ray tracing” that takes full advantage of the hardware.
The PlayStation 5 version is able to support a range of graphical settings, including dynamic 4K/HDR and a separate 60fps performance mode. The optional performance mode also benefits from Insomniac’s temporal injection and ray tracing, resulting in more realistic visuals.
Insomniac Games previously stated that there was no way to transfer save files from the PlayStation 4 version of the game to the PS5 version. However, they later reversed that decision. A guide has now been released detailing how to transfer saves.
In addition, there is now a Spider-Man PS4 update. This update adds three new suits to the game, and is scheduled for release around Thanksgiving. It will also fix a bug that was causing the Rest Mode to not work.
