Besides the skyline, Insomniac Games also recreated several neighborhoods in New York City. Some of them are a bit inaccurate, though.
In the Marvel’s Spider-Man game, players can visit landmarks such as the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and Radio City Music Hall.
The game also includes the Guggenheim Museum, the United Nations headquarters, and the Nintendo World Store. While these locations aren’t exactly replicas of their real-life counterparts, they do look good. The Empire State Building, for instance, looks very much like the actual building.
Although it isn’t completely accurate, the open-world Manhattan is quite realistic. There are official street names, buildings are rendered in a grid-like layout, and there’s even a FDR Drive.
While the game isn’t an exact replica of the city, it’s probably the best one yet. It’s a great tribute to the ‘Big Apple’ and comic book fans. It’s a little more crowded than some might be used to, but it’s still easy to get around.
Those who have played the previous games can adapt to this version. It’s not a 1:1 replica, but it’s definitely the closest thing to it that you’ll find in a video game.
