Do Spider Plants Release Pollen?
One of the most popular house plants is the spider plant, or Chlorophytum comosum. They are easy to grow and have great air purifying properties. They are also attractive and a great addition to your home.
They’re a good plant to have around your home because they remove pollutants like formaldehyde, benzene and xylene from the air. Besides cleaning the air, they’re also great for people who have allergies.
You can start with seedlings or offsets. You can plant them in the ground or in hanging baskets. Just make sure to keep the soil evenly moist.
When you first plant your seeds, it may take a while to germinate. They should be planted about a quarter-inch deep and at least two inches apart.
After the seeds have sprouted, they should be moved to a larger container. They should be grown in average room temperatures and kept away from direct sunlight. They should be fertilized twice a month.
You can propagate spider plants by planting plantlets. To do so, you’ll need a bent paper clip or other item that you can use to hold the plantlet in the soil. If you want to re-plant a plantlet, you can pull it out of the soil.
Spider plants are a great way to add an attractive, flowering look to your home. They are also tolerant of neglect. You can grow them indoors, or you can even grow them outside in the summer. If you live in a cool climate, you can use them as annuals.
