They have small, fine hairs called setae on their bodies. These hairs help them sense vibrations and chemical signatures. They also allow them to detect sound that is traveling through the air.
They may have a tendency to crawl into dark areas. Some specimens even investigate the lid opening on their cage. They can also have a sense of smell. However, their eyesight is not as good as humans.
They are known for their solitary behaviors, so it is unlikely that they will recognize you. They will also have a hard time recognizing your face. They will not be able to change their behavior based on you. They will still perceive you as a threat.
