Are Jumping Spiders Friendly?

Jumping spiders are cute creatures, but some people are afraid of them. They are known to have venom, but most of the time it is harmless. But, they can bite if you get too close to them. If you do end up bitten, you should take the necessary steps to prevent infection.

If you do get bitten by a jumping spider, it can cause localized pain. It may also lead to swelling and itching. It’s advisable to see a doctor as soon as possible. If you’re allergic to arthropod venom, you should avoid exposure to spiders.

There are around 6,000 species of jumping spiders all over the world. They live in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

They are mainly found outdoors, preferring areas with plenty of vegetation. They aren’t aggressive with humans, and will only bite if they are threatened. They have eight eyes and are known to have excellent daytime vision. However, they have poor night vision.

Jumping spiders have very small fangs that are unlikely to break skin. They aren’t poisonous, but they can cause itching and swelling.

They are also extremely shy. They will only bite if they are cornered, and will jump to escape. They aren’t aggressive, but they have a tendency to “dance” when they’re in a mating dance with another spider.

If you come across a jumping spider, you’ll have to handle it gently. The best thing to do is to put them in a cup or a piece of plastic. Then, gently move them to a safer place.
