What Happens If You Drink Mosquito Larvae?
During the development of a mosquito, there are four stages. There is the egg stage, larval stage, pupa stage, and adult stage. Each stage can last for a couple of days or more.
The egg is laid by the female mosquito. These eggs can remain dormant for up to 10 years. They can lay up to 500 eggs before they die. Then, they begin a cycle again.
The larvae, also called wigglers, live in the water. They feed on bacteria, algae, and microorganisms. They also take food from other mosquito species. They are harmless to humans and animals. But they are vulnerable to predators.
They are known to eat sap and nectar. They can also kill other mosquitoes. They transform into enormous, nectar-eating adults.
These predatory mosquitoes have a hunger for blood at a young age. In fact, the footage of their attack shows that they can launch their heads at breakneck speeds.
In the first phase of their life cycle, they have floats attached to the sides. They hang upside down at the surface of the water. They use brushes near their mouths to filter the water. They can survive for a few weeks in the water. The water can be used for plants, livestock, or even in your garden.
When they hatch, they move back and forth in the water to look for food. Then, they head to the bottom of the water. This means that you cannot drink them. However, you can suffocate them by spraying mineral oil on the water.
