Why Do Flies Keep Coming Back?
Flies are irritating to the senses, and the nuisance they cause can make you want to get rid of them as quickly as possible. Their lifespan depends on the species, the type of food, and the environment in which they live. Typically, they live between 15 and 25 days. When left unchecked, they can quickly multiply into a nuisance infestation.
Some flies are more persistent than others. For example, cluster flies may come back each year, even if they have already been expelled from your home. Cluster flies look much larger than houseflies and are yellow or golden in colour. They also produce a sickly sweet odour. They lay their eggs in earthworm burrows, and they aren’t usually attracted to dead animals and rotting food.
Flies are attracted to decaying organic matter. In fact, some species need this organic matter to reproduce. Once you have identified the type of fly you’re dealing with, the next step is to find where that organic material is. Once you’ve located the decaying organic matter, you can take the necessary steps to eradicate your problem.
Another way to prevent flies is to clean and seal up the areas where they can breed. You can do this by cleaning up spills and crumbs. Also, make sure your garbage cans are closed to keep flies away. Flies also love the smell of rotten or fermented foods.
