How Vinegar Kills Fleas
A flea infestation is never fun for your pets, and the constant scratching and itching can make your pets miserable. Flea bites can lead to a loss of hair, irritated skin, and even anemia in animals. In addition, fleas can bite humans as well, so you should take the necessary steps to prevent flea infestations. One of the most effective flea repellents is vinegar. You can use it on your pets or on yourself to get rid of fleas.
You can apply vinegar to your cat’s coat or spray it on furniture. You can also use the mixture to clean carpets and furniture. Just be sure to allow the mixture to dry before using it on your cat. Remember, cats may not tolerate the smell of vinegar, so it is important to test it out first before letting your cat use it.
While vinegar does smell strongly, this is temporary and will soon fade. The best way to use it to kill fleas is to mix it with water and give your pet a bath. Add distilled white vinegar to the bathwater and let it soak for a few minutes. This will kill existing fleas and repel new ones.
Vinegar can only kill adult fleas, but it will not kill the eggs or larvae. It will repel them, and will also prevent them from feeding on your pet. This method will only work for adults and does not work for fleas on humans, as it lacks the acid required by fleas to survive.
