Can Fleas Live in Human Hair?

While fleas are a pest that can live in human hair, this is a rare occurrence. While there are more than 2000 species of fleas around the world, human hair is not one of their preferred habitats. Human hair is a suitable place for only one species of flea, however.

Fleas can live in human hair if they have access to a pet’s hair. However, this is unlikely to happen. The reason for this is that fleas evolved to live on animals with thick, dense fur, which makes humans an unlikely host.
