Are Fleas Big Enough to See?

Fleas lay hundreds to thousands of eggs in their lifetime. These eggs hatch after one to twelve days and the larvae are only two millimeters long. They hide from sunlight and hide in carpet fibers. During the day, you might not see them, but you can easily spot them by squinting your eyes.
The flea is difficult to identify as the larvae are covered with debris. Fleas are not large enough to see with the naked eye, so squishing them between your fingers can catch them. Fleas are a nuisance to pets, and it’s best to prevent them from spreading.
Fleas are tiny parasitic insects that feed on the blood of their hosts. The adult flea measures between 1.5 and 4 millimeters in length, and female fleas can be up to two millimeters long. While fleas are difficult to see individually, you can see a few of them hopping around. This is an indication of an infestation.
The larvae are white and dark. Fleas live in many different environments, including on the skin of a host animal. When they are not feeding on an animal, they can live on clothes, luggage, and beds. Pets with bedding and mattresses are particularly vulnerable to infestation.
